Biography

Daniel Price is an active trumpet performer, teacher, composer and arranger in Northern Indiana. He is currently Second Trumpet in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, formerly Principal Trumpet of the Carmel Symphony Orchestra and Trumpet Fellow at the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Additionally he has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the New World Symphony, the National Repertory Orchestra, the Spoleto Festival Orchestra, and the AIMS Graz Festival Orchestra. Since 2022 he has been the Lead Trumpet in the Showchoir Camps of America house band. He is also the Trumpet Instructor at Purdue University at Fort Wayne since Fall 2024.

Mr. Price completed his Masters of Music Degree in Trumpet performance at the University of Georgia where he studied with the world renowned Philip Smith – retired principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic with a 38 year tenure. He received his Bachelors of Music Degree in Trumpet performance from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music where he studied with Mr. John Rommel – formerly of the Nashville and Louisville Symphonies. Additionally he has received extensive instruction from Esteban Batallán, Mark Ridenour, and Carole Reinhart.

In addition to music, Daniel is passionate about Cooking, History, Philosophy, Science, Golf, and Hiking.
